How long is the warranty that comes with second-hand guitars and instruments?
All Second-Hand products have been extensively tested/checked over and are issued with a 3-month warranty. Please note, valves (such as those found in valve combos or heads) are not covered under warranty.
How long is the return period for second-hand guitars and instruments?
Our second-hand guitars, instruments and music equipment come with a 14-day return period. This means you have 14 days to test out your purchase and receive a full refund if you decide to return it within that time period. We also offer a 30-day exchange policy if any faults with your second-hand item arise within that period.
The item and any included packaging must be in the same condition they were in when purchased. All packaging and accessories must also be included. See our Returns & Refunds page for more information.
Can I trade in or upgrade my used musical instruments?
Thinking of upgrading your instrument, why not trade in your current model and we can discount the part exchange value from the cost of your new instrument? Simply fill out the form on our Sell Your Gear page and a member of our Second-Hand team will offer you a quote. If you have any questions about one of our current Pre-Owned products or require additional information on how our part-exchange system works, please contact us for more details.
What brands of second-hand guitars can I buy at GAK?
The brands of second-hand guitars that we have available depend on what our customers have traded in. We have all the popular guitar brands pass through our second department, including Fender, Gibson, Squier, Epiphone and Ibanez. Often, our stock of second-hand guitars features sought-after vintage, discontinued and rare models. We also offer brands that we don’t usually stock such as Reverend, Eastwood and Tom Anderson.
What’s the difference between a second-hand guitar and a new guitar?
A new guitar is fresh from the factory and should be free of any cosmetic flaws or damage. You will also be its first official owner. New guitars also come with a longer warranty and are more readily available if you’re a touring musician that needs to be able to replace their instrument.
Alternatively, a second-hand guitar will have had one or more previous owners. Second-hand guitars may also have the odd bit of playing wear and tear - though many guitarists feel this adds character to an instrument. This means that second-hand guitars are usually more affordable than their brand-new equivalent. If your dream guitar is out of your price range, it’s worth keeping an eye out for a second-hand version.
What is B-Stock?
Second-Hand isn’t the only way to pick up a bargain, we also have a great range of B-Stock, Ex-Display & Nearly New instruments too.
